It was directed by Kevin Tancharoen and written by Allison Burnett. It is scheduled to be released on sep. 25, 2009 (3 years ago).Unlike the original 1980 (32 years ago) hit movie which was rated R, the reinvention has been rated PG for "thematic material including teen drinking, a sexual situation and language" by the MPAA.
