It was succeeded initially by the Nikon D70s and more recently by the Nikon D80 and Nikon D90, announced respectively on Aug. 9, 2006 (6 years ago) and Aug. 27, 2008 (4 years ago). Like all current Nikon DX DSLRs, the Nikon D70 was manufactured in Ayuthaya, Thailand.
