Biography for Jamie KingJamie King is a director and choreographer known primarily for his work with Madonna. Since 1996 (16 years ago), he has served as the director and choreographer for many of her performances, including her appearances at both the 2001 (11 years ago) and 2006 (6 years ago) Grammy Awards, as well as her Drowned World, Re-Invention, Confessions, and Sticky & Sweet tours. He also directed the music video for her hit song, "Sorry". For his work on Madonna's Drowned World Tour, King was nominated for the 2002 (10 years ago) Emmy Award for outstanding choreography (along with Alexandre Magno and Debra Brown).The beginning of King's career came with his 1993-1996 collaboration with Prince. In 1995 (17 years ago), he was nominated for the Emmy Award for outstanding individual achievement in choreography for his work on Prince's appearance at the 22nd American Music Awards. King appeared as a backup dancer for Michael Jackson (60 walls) on his Dangerous World Tour. Since then, he also served as creative director for performances by Mariah Carey (29 walls) and Shakira (37 walls). His first major tour he fully managed was Louise Redknapp's 1996 (16 years ago) tour The Louise Soft and Gentle No Sweat Tour. King has directed a number of international tours including Christina Aguilera's 2006 (6 years ago) Back to Basics Tour, Rain's World Tour as well as the Spice Girls 2007-2008 Return of the Spice Girls reunion world tour. King also released a book and DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) from Rodale titled Rock Your Body. Over the past three years, he has served as Nike's global spokesperson for their dance line, and created the gym-based Nike Rockstar Workout. He was a judge on MTV's Rock the Cradle and was a guest judge on the season premiere of Bravo's Step It Up and Dance. He has also appeared as one of the celebrity judges on Dance Fever.
