David Boreanaz (born May 16, 1969 (41 years ago)) is an American actor, best known for his roles as Seeley Booth on the television drama Bones, and Angel on the horror series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.

Early life

David Boreanaz was born on May 16, 1969 (41 years ago) in Buffalo, New York and grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where his father, Dave Roberts, is a weatherman for channel WPVI-TV and his mother, Patti Boreanaz, is a travel agent. He is of Italian descent (the surname Boreanaz is of Northern Italian origin). He is Roman Catholic.

Boreanaz attended high school at Malvern Preparatory School in Malvern, Pennsylvania, and went to college at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. After graduating, Boreanaz moved to Hollywood, California to pursue an acting career.

Personal life

Boreanaz lives in Los Angeles, California. He was married to Ingrid Quinn from Jun. 7, 1997 (13 years ago) to Oct. 1999 (11 years ago), and married actress and model Jaime Bergman on Nov. 24, 2001 (9 years ago). He and Jaime had a son, Jaden Rayne, whose birthday is on May 1, 2002; they are currently expecting their first daughter in 2009 (last year).. He is a Philadelphia Flyers fan.

Career

Boreanaz's first acting appearance was a guest spot on the hit American sitcom, Married... with Children, as Kelly's biker boyfriend. He was cast in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, after encouragement from his first wife, an Irish woman named Ingrid Quinn, to audition. In the cult series, he played the mysterious Angel, a vampire with a soul. The show became enormously successful and Boreanaz starred in a spin-off series, Angel, which gave the character a chance to evolve and concentrated on Angel's battle for redemption. He appeared on Buffy from 1997 (13 years ago) to 1999 (11 years ago), at which point he began starring in Angel, which ran until 2004 (6 years ago).

Boreanaz's only starring role in a major theatrical movie was in 2001's slasher horror film, Valentine, alongside Denise Richards (33 walls) and Katherine Heigl. In 2003 (7 years ago), he appeared in the music video for singer Dido's "White Flag", and was the voice of Leon (Squall Leonhart) in the video game Kingdom Hearts, but he did not reprise his role in the sequel.

In 2005 (5 years ago), Boreanaz began starring opposite Emily Deschanel on the current prime time television series, Bones. He also appeared in These Girls, a Canadian movie in which he played a biker; the movie received a limited theatrical release in Canada in Mar. 2006 (4 years ago), after premiering at the Toronto Film Festival and the Vancouver International Film Festival. He has also starred in the independent movies Mr. Fix it and Suffering Man's Charity (also called "Ghost Writer"), as well as the direct-to-DVD "The Crow: Wicked Prayer". In that same year, he also voiced Hal Jordan in the direct to video DC Comics animated feature Justice League: The New Frontier. In the season 3 finale of his TV series Bones, Booth is seen in his bathtub reading an issue of Green Lantern, the character he voiced in the Justice League: The New Frontier movie.

As well as being a producer on Bones since its third season, Boreanaz also directed the episode "The Bones That Foam." This was his second time as a director; in Angel's fifth and final season Boreanaz directed the episode "Soul Purpose".

The TCAs rolled into day three yesterday, which brought some major developments from Fox. Simon Cowell made a surprise appearance during the executive panel to announce this season will be his last on American Idol. With his departure, Simon will bring the X Factor to the States, which he will judge and executive produce. Simon spoke about his love for AI, calling it the best eight years of his life and even hinting at bringing Paula onto X Factor when he revealed, "I adore Paula, whatever happens I will be working with her in some capacity. I miss her." Later in the day we got a look at the upcoming season of 24 from Kiefer Sutherland, Freddie Prinze Jr., and the rest of the cast, who are upping the action this year from NYC. Freddie said he was so excited to play his latest role saying, "I'm usually struggling to fall in love for 96 minutes, and I always get the girl." After the panels the stars moved to Fox's All Star party. The cast of Glee were all in attendance and so excited to celebrate the news their show got picked up for a second season. Kevin McHale told us they were all on set together when they found out, and as far as his hopes for season two, he's excited for the songs and dances to get bigger and bigger. Lea Michele and Dianna Agron stuck close to each other all night long. When asked about filming The Romantics, Dianna revealed the cast was so much fun to work with and that she was especially excited when Katie Holmes revealed she's a big fan of Glee. Also fresh off a People's Choice Awards win, Olivia Wilde looked gorgeous as usual among the members of the House cast in attendance. Extra reports that Rachel is currently in negotiations with Playboy to pose for the men's magazine, and that the NYC club hostess "wants a lot of money." No surprise there. Uchitel was outraged after being called a hooker on The View, but clearly has no issues with posing nude other than whether she'll be getting paid enough. Representatives for Playboy refused to comment on the rumors, and last week, Hugh Hefner himself seemed hesitant based to touch the Tiger scandal. However, women in sex scandals are often in the publication's wheelhouse. In the past, Playboy did a spread on Paula Jones, among other examples. Cough it up and make it happen, Hugh! UPDATE: In unrelated and actually true news, Tiger is in "serious" condition after being involved in a single car crash near his home in Florida early this morning. The crash occurred at 2:20 a.m. near his home, and he was taken to Health Central Hospital with facial lacerations. Woods struck a fire hydrant and then a tree on a neighbor's property. Police say alcohol was not a factor. According to ESPN, the police report reads, "driver had just pulled out of the driveway at his residence ... as [vehicle] began to drive on Deacon Circle, [vehicle] struck a fire hydrant. The front of [vehicle] then struck a tree." He was driving a 2009 Cadillac SUV. Here's wishing Woods a speedy recovery.
