She was born to a Slovak mother and Czech father in Brezno, a small town of central Slovakia (Czechoslovakia by that time).

Ariana Karembeu was born to a Slovakian mother and a Czech father named Sklernakova in Brezno, a small town in central Slovakia (then a part of Czechoslovakia). Having originally studied medicine some in the city Prague, she gave up her studies to become a fashion model. She was also hired as of the models for the Wonderbra, and she was popular in Europe for her Wonderbra billboards.

On 22 Dec. 1998 (12 years ago), Adriana married the French football (soccer) player Christian Karembeu.
